What is Salvation? Do i need it? What are its benefits?

You might be wondering What is the meaning of word salvation? or Do i need it? or Why i need salvation? are there any benefits of Salvation? You are at right place at right time. All these questions you have been thinking are important and there answers are more even. First of all, yes you do need salvation in your life and there are huge meaning of it which makes big difference in our lives. Once you will understand its actual meaning of salvation your heart will be filled with joy and thankfulness to the Lord Jesus Christ.

What is Salvation and what are its meaning?

Salvation is deliverance from Sin, its consequences and eternal punishment of it. Salvation is the process in which all the generational Curses, sicknesses, and sinful nature is broken with almighty power of blood of Jesus Christ. Actually, blood of man is it which carries all generational sicknesses, curses, and sins. This transmission from one generation to another makes it important the need of salvation. This all started from first man, Adam, who rebelled and sin against almighty God and because of him whole universe was condemned. Because of Adams fall we all are considered sinners. From that day, sin and its consequences transmitted from one generation to other through blood.  Psalm 51:1 explains, “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity”. And in sin my mother conceived me.”

Adam sinned against almighty, infinite God so its punishment was also infinite which Adam and his descendants were not able to bear. So there was separation between God and Man until He sent His Son Jesus Christ into this world.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16.

Jesus Christ who is Son of God came to this world and born to virgin Mary. He lived righteous life and set the example for humankind to follow and died on the Cross and paid the full price of Sin. Now, all we need to believe in the work of Cross and accept in our heart the Jesus Christ is our savior and you will be saved instantly. Jesus rose from the dead on third day and He showed that we will be also and our bodies will be transformed into glorified bodies and we will go to heaven and we will live with him.

What are benefits of Salvation?

There are many benefits of being saved in Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus Christ covers our nakedness and sinful and present us righteous before God. God does not see us as sinners but righteous with the blood of Jesus Christ. The Separation between God and man was broken on the day when Jesus finished the work on cross. Now we have free and all time access to heaven in Jesus name.

Salvation is only acquired by the grace of God and faith in Jesus Christ alone.

I have discussed seven blessings of the work of Salvation.

  1. Deliverance from Wrath of God,

…. whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come. -1 Thessalonians 1:10

God is love and He loved the world but we must understand the He is righteous Judge also and Justice is the part of His nature. There is no bit of doubt that He loved Adam and Eve very much that is why He killed the animal in Garden and gave them to cover their nakedness. But Adamic fall caused the great anger of God. Their sin was against almighty God which disturbed the whole creation and death entered into world. No doubt God knew it already through his foreknowledge characteristic but He gave man the freedom of Choice.

Four thousand years before Christ, God was covering His wrath with the sacrifices which are mentioned in the Leviticus. No one was able bear the punishment of Adam’s Sin it until Jesus Christ came voluntarily to meet the wrath of God on Cross. Almost 2000 years ago Jesus died on Cross and rescued whole mankind but there is condition whoever believe shall have everlasting life. John 3:16

  1. Reconciliation with God.

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.-2 Corinthians 5:18, 1Colossians 1:20

God has reconciled his broken relationship with mankind through His Son. Now we have direct access to heaven through Jesus. We have great advocate on heaven interceding for us to Father. God is spirit and we can communicate with Him only through Spirit. This is why when God created Adam and He breathed into nostrils on Adam and Adam was carrying God’s breath (Sprit) inside him which made him alive. But once had made sin, he died and Spiritual connection and communication was broken but Jesus stood in the gap and restored this communication. And God has poured His Spirit again on the church in Acts 2. Now we can talk with father any time. And He has also given us gifts of Spirit (1 Corinthians 12 ) which activates when we born again.

  1. Justification.

Galations 3:6-15, Mathew 19:17

God has made us Justified when believe in Jesus and his work of Salvation on Cross. Justification means a sinner accounted as righteous. We were sinners but once we have faith in Him, we are justified and have been considered as Righteous before God. Now when God looks on us He sees righteousness of Jesus on Us.

  1. Redemption from Generational Curses

We are redeemed of God from all the generational curses and sicknesses which transmitted through blood, words, objects and physical contact. These are mentioned in Deuteronomy 28. It has list of blessings and Curses. But Christ has redeemed us from all the curses, sicknesses, poverty, curse of law and many more which are mentioned in scriptures. Now, we are free, we have to proclaim it with authority given us by Jesus Christ.

  1. Mercy of God

We have mercy of God on us. And we should seek Mercy of God. There is difference between Mercy and Grace of God. Mercy is not getting what we deserve which is punishment of our transgressions and Grace is which we do not deserve which is unmerited favor of God. God withheld punishment and forgive us. We humans have sinful flesh and our nature incline toward sin. But Mercy and Grace of God save us for great day when we will go to heaven and have fellowship with our Master.

  1. Peace with God

Romans 5:1-11, Romans 2:14-18, There is difference between with peace of God and peace with God. We can understand both once we are born again. Peace with God is that when we are saved and justified we have peace with God. Peace of God and which believers have with them. It guards our mind and hearts. Because Jesus is the prince of peace.

  1. Sonship

Romans 8:15, We have received the spirit of Adoption whereby we cry, Abba, Father. We are adopted by God as His Children and we have right that can call him Father. Jesus taught his disciples to call him as Father in Prayers. Becoming the sons of almighty God means He has unconditional love for us. And He loved us so He gave his only begotten son so we can forever unending life with him.

The Work of Salvation has brought a great reform in the Universe. It has enlighten a great hope to dying world and to its habitants when God instituted Church in Acts 2. We must understand our role in the Church and work for its expansion. I can testify with my personal experiences that acceptance of Jesus Christ as personal savior changes life. They day i accepted Jesus Christ, I feel like i have stepped into light from darkness.

Salvation is gift for you which He has offered you by his Grace. If you are willing to be saved today then pray this prayer as you mean it. Remember, this prayer has not any magic, it is just expression of your heart to God and God will save you. Say this Prayer,

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
